A set of 52 unique weather symbols saved as individual PNG images. A single zipped file includes the complete set of weather icons at 64x64 pixels to suit any web-based weather application. Also included is the complete set of original artwork each as a 512x512 pixel PNG. You can safely scale the large-size images down to your own preferred sizes and maintain maximum image quality.
Designed by former BBC Weather Centre Graphic Designer Mike Afford specifically as an alternative for those wanting to use the BBC icons without the worry of potential copyright infringement.
This symbol set has been designed from scratch, and now features real Irish clouds throughout (the original BBC weather icons use British clouds!), larger and more regular 'hail' (to better distinguish them from snow), and a complete alternative set of night-time icons which feature a crescent moon. There is a set of night-time icons without the moon just in case these symbols are used in conjunction with moon phase information.
There are also a couple of extra symbols that may be of use - 'Partly Cloudy (night)' and 'Cloudy (night)'.
