The set includes the classic symbols for sunshine, sunny spells, white cloud, black cloud, light and heavy rain, snow, hail, sleet and thunderstorms, with separate versions for 'showers'. There are 20 full-colour symbols in all, plus duplicate versions in a single colour (black).

The animated icons are each saved as a single strip of images, and can be animated by showing each image position in turn. The number of individual frames in each animation varies according to the weather type (for example, rain is displayed using a 16-frame loop, with a modest 20kB file-size). 35 out of the 40 symbols are animated - each with seamlessly looping precipitation generated using Trapcode's Particular plug-in for After Effects.
